Multi-Modal Transport Operator Liability
A multimodal transport operator is one who handles the transport of cargo from its origin to the final destination by different modes of transport (sea, air, road, or rail). Within the period of responsibility, MTOs are liable for any act or omission that causes loss, damage, or delay in the delivery of goods. It is a pre-requisite for the MTO to have insurance to cover payment for any claim arising.
多式联运经商指通过不同的运输方式（海运、空运、公路或铁路）将货物从原产地运输到最终目的地。在责任期限内，任何导致货物丢失、损坏或延迟交付的行为，MTO均应承担责任。 MTO必须提前购买保险以便支付任何索赔费用。
